2 sisters die by suicide over pet dog's prolonged illness in UP

Two sisters, aged 24 and 22, died by suicide after consuming phenyl in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow, police said. Family members stated that they were deeply distressed as their pet dog’s condition failed to improve despite prolonged treatment. The sisters had been suffering from depression for several years and had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues since 2014.
