2 US authors sue OpenAI for violating copyrights to train ChatGPT
US authors Paul Tremblay and Mona Awad sued OpenAI claiming that the firm misused their works to "train" its generative artificial intelligence (AI) system ChatGPT. They said ChatGPT mined data copied from thousands of books without permission, infringing the authors' copyrights. The lawsuit said books are a "key ingredient" because they offer "best examples of high-quality long-form writing".
