200-year-old castle bought by Mark Zuckerberg once hosted a 'murderous device'
The 200-year-old Strancally Castle, purchased by Mark Zuckerberg, comes with a "gruesome history", according to Irish Times. English author William Howitt wrote in 1847 that the site was known for hosting a "murderous device" about two miles from the present castle, where people were lured and killed. "The unwary...were tied hand and foot and hung down the murder-hole," Howitt wrote.
