2,000-calorie meal plan for a balanced diet released by ICMR

The ICMR has shared a 2000-calorie meal plan to achieve a balanced diet from different food groups. According to the government-run research body, a balanced diet includes 250 grams of cereals and nutricereals, 400 grams vegetables, 100 grams fruits, 85 grams pulses, eggs and fish/flesh foods, 35 grams nuts and seeds, 27 grams fats and oils and 300 ml milk/curd.
