According to statistics from Dealogic, 2015 has been a record year for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with the global M&A activity reaching a volume of $4.9 trillion. This beats the record of $4.6 trillion set in 2007. Some of the major deals include Pfizer buying Allergan for over $160 billion, Belgium's AB InBev acquiring SABMiller and Dell buying EMC.
