2025 on track to become one of the hottest years ever recorded

EU climate data shows 2025 is on track to tie 2023 as the second-hottest year ever recorded, following the record-breaking heat of 2024. Average global temperatures from January to November were 1.48 degrees celcius above pre-industrial levels, nearing the Paris Agreement limit. Scientists warn that rising heat and extreme weather underscore the urgent need to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
