2025 was third warmest year on record

The year 2025 was the third warmest year on record, findings from European Union’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) revealed on Wednesday. However, in 2025, the air-surface temperature over global land areas was the second warmest. Global temperatures from past three years (2023-2025) averaged 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, marking the first three-year period to exceed this threshold.
