21,900 digital arrest complaints registered, ₹647 cr lost in 8 months: MHA

MHA and I4C told the Supreme Court that over 21,900 digital arrest fraud complaints involving ₹647 crore were filed between January–August 2026. The status report details steps by banks, telecom firms, and agencies including CBI arrests of 49 people. A Grievance Redressal Portal covers 109 banks and ₹112.96 crore restored to victims so far.
