21 universities declared fake in Delhi & 8 other states/UTs; names released

The University Grants Commission has released a list of 21 fake universities operating in Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, UP, Odisha, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. The UGC said these "self-styled, unrecognised institutions" are not empowered to confer any degree. The universities include St John's University, United Nations University and Vocational University among others.
