21-yr-old Diya Binu becomes India’s youngest municipal chairperson

21-year-old Diya Binu Pulikkakandam has become India's youngest municipal chairperson after she assumed office as the Chairperson of the Pala Municipality in Kerala. Diya is the daughter of former municipal chairperson Binu Pulikkakandam and the niece of councillor Biju Pulikkakandam and all three have won in the recent municipal elections. Diya is a BA Economics graduate.
