22 Buddhist monks detained in Sri Lanka for smuggling 110 kg drugs

A total of 22 Buddhist monks were detained at a Sri Lankan airport for smuggling 110 kg of drugs (cannabis) while returning after a four-day holiday in Thailand by hiding them inside their luggage. The smuggling was reportedly coordinated by three monks, while the remaining 19 members were told they would be transporting 'educational materials and sweets' for schoolchildren.
