22 lakh dog bites reported in 2024, over 5 lakh kids among victims

About 22 lakh dog bite cases were reported in the country in 2024, out of which five lakh victims were children less than 15 years of age, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh informed Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Around 21,95,122 dog bite cases and 37 deaths were reported in 2024, Singh said.
