22-year-old Preeti Pawar wins India's 1st gold medal in boxing at CWG 2026

Indian boxer Preeti Pawar won the women’s 54kg gold medal at Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 after defeating Canada’s Scarlett Delgado in the final. The 22-year-old secured the title on her CWG debut, adding to her Asian Games 2022 bronze. India have bagged 6 gold medals at the ongoing Games so far.
