22-yr-old man publicly executed in North Korea for watching K-pop: Reports

North Korea publicly executed a 22-year-old man in 2022 for listening to and sharing K-pop music and films. Details of the case were released in the 2024 Report on North Korean Human Rights by South Korea's unification ministry. According to an unnamed defector's testimony, the man had allegedly listened to 70 South Korean songs, watched three films and distributed them.
