22-yr-old Ukrainian man charged in ransomware spree extradited to US
A 22-year-old Ukrainian man, Yaroslav Vasinskyi, charged last year with conducting severe ransomware attacks against US targets, has been extradited to the US. Vasinskyi was allegedly behind the July attack against software provider Kaseya. Vasinskyi accessed internal computer networks of several victim companies and deployed Sodinokibi/REvil ransomware to encrypt the data on their computers.
