23 crore PAN cards linked with Aadhaar before March 31 deadline

Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman Sushil Chandra has said 23 crore PAN card holders have so far linked their PAN with Aadhaar, despite the deadline to link the two coming to an end on March 31. The Income Tax Department has so far issued 42 crore PANs, he added. "If it isn't linked, we may cancel...PAN also," he added.
