240-kmph winds from Hurricane Ida force Mississippi river to flow in reverse

Storm surge and winds of over 240 kmph from Hurricane Ida stopped the flow of the Mississippi river and caused it to flow in reverse near US' New Orleans on Sunday. US Geological Survey said that such phenomenon is "extremely uncommon". Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, Louisiana on Sunday afternoon as a Category 4 hurricane.
