26% equity MFs beat benchmarks in Jan, down from 61% in Dec: Data

Around 26% of open-ended equity diversified funds beat their benchmarks in January compared to 61% in December, Moneycontrol reported citing PL Capital's data. The research further found that no large-cap scheme outperformed the benchmark in January. Around 17% of mid-cap funds beat their benchmarks while the figure stood at 86% for the small-cap funds.
