26% Green Steel mandate may boost 16 MTPA Govt demand by 2030: CII

A CII study found that India is ready for Green Public Procurement in steel. A 26% mandate from FY2028 could create a 16-24 MTPA certified green steel market by FY2030, cutting emissions by up to 20.9 MtCO, boosting industrial decarbonisation, supporting public infrastructure projects, and enhancing competitiveness with minimal additional costs.
