26 unknown bacteria found inside NASA’s ultra sterile cleanrooms

Scientists have identified 26 previously unknown bacterial species inside NASA's highly sanitised cleanrooms at Kennedy Space Center. Despite extreme cleaning and strict controls, the microbes survived using genes that resist radiation and repair DNA. The discovery raises planetary protection concerns and was reported in the journal Microbiome.
