26-year-old Manisha becomes Pakistan's first Hindu woman DSP

Manisha Ropeta, who belongs to Pakistan's minority Hindu community, has become the country's first Hindu female Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). "I joined the police because I feel we need 'protector' women in our society," said Ropeta, adding, "I want to...encourage gender equality in the police force." The 26-year-old will take charge as the DSP in the Sindh Police force.
