27 Indian fishermen released from Sri Lanka jail reach Chennai

Out of 32 Indian fishermen arrested by Sri Lankan Navy, 27 were released and arrived at Chennai airport on Thursday. Sri Lankan Navy caught five mechanised boats and detained the fishermen from Ramanathapuram district for violation of International Maritime Boundary Line between the two countries on February 23. Following this, fishermen associations had urged the Centre to take immediate action.
