29 years since fans caused riot during India's WC semi, set fire at Eden Gardens stands

During 1996 ODI World Cup semi-final between India and Sri Lanka at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, fans caused a riot, setting fire to areas of stands when India were reduced to 120/8 while chasing 252. The fans also started to pelt the fielders with water bottles. Match referee Clive Lloyd declared the match abandoned and Sri Lanka reached final by default.
