2nd case of HMPV reported in Gujarat as 8-yr-old tests positive

An eight-year-old boy has tested positive for Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) in Gujarat’s Himatnagar, taking the total number of infected persons in the state to two. The boy is currently on ventilator support and is receiving necessary medical care, district health officials reported on Thursday. Earlier this month, a two-month-old baby tested positive for HMPV in Ahmedabad.
