Sri Lankan batting line-up reached a score of 264/7 on day one of the second Test against New Zealand with Angelo Mathews (63*) at the crease. The Lankans were left rattling at 121/4 before a 138-run stand between Mathews and Milinda Siriwardana (62) stabilised their innings. Meanwhile, Trent Boult and Tim Southee picked up two wickets each for the Kiwis.
