3.61 crore saplings planted across 1.32 lakh km of NHs in 5 yrs

Over the last five years, more than 3.61 crore saplings have been planted across about 1.32 lakh km of National Highways, under the National Highways Authority of India's guidelines. Several Miyawaki plantations have also been introduced around highways to increase green cover. The NHAI is also shifting to recycled construction materials and using the bio-bitumen technology for paving roads.
