3,700-yr-old bones show earliest known father–daughter incest case

A genetic study of a Bronze Age burial in Italy's Grotta della Monaca has identified the earliest known case of father-daughter incest. Scientists analysed remains of 23 individuals dated to 1780-1380 BC. The remains of one boy showed unprecedented DNA homozygosity, confirming first-degree incest. An adult male buried nearby was found to be both his father and grandfather.
