3 dead after slab falls from crane at bridge site in Odisha

Three people died and two were critically injured in Odisha's Cuttack on Saturday after a concrete slab, being lifted by crane, collapsed on them during construction work on a bridge over the Kathajodi river. "We have started our preliminary investigation," the police stated. CM Mohan Majhi announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹5 lakh each for the families of the deceased.
