3 lions die of organ failure in Japan zoo amid extreme heat

Three female lions have died of suspected heatstroke at Tokyo's Tama Zoological Park over the last week as parts of Japan hit 40°C. Their autopsies revealed they had suffered from dehydration and multiple organ failure, suggesting extreme heat as the cause, the zoo said. "Heat here comes with high humidity...different from heat with dry air in Africa," it added.
