3 Maori MPs face suspension over haka protest in NZ Parliament

A New Zealand government committee recommended seven-day suspension for three Maori MPs for performing haka during reading of Treaty Principles Bill in Parliament last year. The committee found their actions potentially intimidating. The bill sought to reinterpret 184-year-old treaty between British and Maori but was later defeated. Haka is a traditional ceremonial war dance of Maori community.
