3 northeastern states announce special allowances for AIS officers

The governments of Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland have announced a "special compensatory allowance" for All India Services (AIS) officers posted in their respective states. The decision comes months after the Union government had withdrawn special benefits for these officers. The AIS includes officers from the Indian Police Service, Indian Administrative Service and Indian Forest Service.
