3 people killed in rain-triggered landslides, floods in Kerala; red alert in place

Three people were killed and several others were trapped after heavy rain triggered landslides and flash floods across parts of Kerala. Fatalities were reported from Idukki, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta. The five districts, along with Kozhikode and Malappuram, are under red alert for extremely heavy rainfall on August 1, while most of Kerala's remaining districts are under an orange alert.
