3 women shave head after fraudsters promise ₹15,000 government incentive in Tamil Nadu

Three women in Tamil Nadu's Salem district became victims of a scam after fraudsters posing as a government official convinced them to shave their heads by promising a ₹15,000 government incentive. The fraudsters claimed that a new infectious disease, similar to COVID-19, was spreading through human hair. School and college-going girls were promised ₹45,000 and a laptop.
