30% taxpayers report ₹20 lakh+ income as per ClearTax survey

ClearTax's annual report says 30.5% of its self-filers reported annual gross income above ₹20 lakh in assessment year 2026-27, up from 22.5% three years earlier. The share reporting income above ₹50 lakh nearly doubled to 8%. The report also found more filers reporting investment, business and other non-salary income, alongside a rise in complex tax returns.
