30 rescued from sinking Iranian ship off Sri Lankan coast amid war

The Sri Lankan military rescued at least ‌30 people on board a sinking Iranian ship near Sri ​Lankan waters amid the Middle East war on ​Wednesday, the country's Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath said. The minister added that two Sri Lankan navy vessels and an aircraft were deployed for the rescue operation after a distress call from the Iranian ship.
