300 lakes registered in Hyd Metropolitan Development Authority data found missing

Around 300 lakes found in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) records are untraceable on the ground. There are 3,532 lakes in seven districts under HMDA jurisdiction, as per the data. The prime reason behind the lakes being untraceable is that many new colonies have been settled under HMDA jurisdiction over the past two decades, according to the lakes protection committee.
