300 migrants in Odisha dig canal through hills to bring water to farms
Over 300 migrant workers in two Maoist-affected blocks in the Kandhamal district of Odisha spent one month digging up a nearly 8-kilometre-long canal through hilly terrain to bring water to the farmlands. The migrants would gather in the morning and work till evening. Meanwhile, the district administration has said that it plans to turn the canal into a concrete structure.
