30,000 kg of fake jeera made from broom bits seized in UP, 7 booked

The police on Sunday recovered 30,000 kilograms of fake cumin seeds (jeera) made using pieces of coconut broom bits, molasses, grass and stone powder in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. The police lodged an FIR against seven people in the case and initiated a probe. The officials said that the seized stock could have been sold for ₹60 lakh in the market.
