300-year-old sculptures worth crores recovered from deceased smuggler's house in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Idol Wing CID recovered nine stolen sculptures from a house in Broadway in Chennai. The idols, believed to be nearly 300 years old, are estimated to be worth crores of rupees. The house belonged to Pamela Emanuel, wife of late Manuel Pineiro, who was reportedly an idol smuggler. Manuel's family didn't have proper documentation for statues, police said.
