31 Maoists killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

Security forces gunned down 31 Naxalites in an encounter in forests under the National Park area of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said. While the toll of Maoists killed was initially 12, IG Bastar, later confirmed that the toll has gone up to 31. The encounter comes a week after eight Maoists were killed in another operation launched in Bijapur district.
