3.3 bn celestial objects revealed in massive survey of Milky Way

A massive survey on the Milky Way's cosmic plane released by astronomers contains a staggering 3.32 billion celestial objects. The new collection is arguably the largest of its kind to date. The DECaPS2 survey took two years to complete. It's a survey of the Milky Way's plane as seen from the southern sky taken at optical and near-infrared wavelengths.
