35-40% lawyers hold fake degrees: Bar Council of India chief

Bar Council of India Chairperson Manan Kumar Mishra claimed that around 35-40% lawyers in India have fake degrees. "When Bar Council of India initiated process to verify degrees, 40% of advocates didn't fill out the verification forms," he added. Referring to Chief Justice of India's "cockroach" remark, he said, CJI Surya Kant was referring to those who obtain "fake degrees".
