36-year-old Shikhar Dhawan appointed captain of Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings have appointed Shikhar Dhawan as their captain for the upcoming season of IPL. The 36-year-old opener will take over from Mayank Agarwal, who was appointed captain ahead of IPL 2022. Earlier this year, Kings spent ₹8.25 crore to buy Dhawan in the auction. Dhawan will be the 14th captain to lead Punjab Kings.
