38% of IITians across all 23 campuses are jobless in 2024: Report
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are facing a job placement crisis, with 8,000 out of 21,500 students still unplaced. This 38% rate has doubled compared to two years ago, affecting both older and newer campuses. The situation has led to six student suicides this year. IITs and BITS are seeking alumni support amid a 20-30% placement decrease.
