3D images reveal features of polar ice caps of Mars

Researchers working with US-based Planetary Science Institute have developed 3D subsurface images revealing structures within the polar ice caps of Mars. The images show a larger volume of frozen carbon dioxide contained in the south polar cap and bowl-shaped features that may be impact craters within polar caps. The observation may enhance the understanding of the Red Planet's climate changes.
