4 Indian states, 1 UT cross World Bank's upper middle-income threshold; 3 miss the mark

Four Indian states and a UT have crossed World Bank's upper middle-income threshold (per capita income between $1,175 and $4,635), as per an analysis by Moneycontrol. Delhi has a per capita income of $6,217, followed by Karnataka ($5,579), Telangana ($5,407), Tamil Nadu ($5,329) and Gujarat ($4,734). Maharashtra ($4,628), Haryana ($4,627) and Kerala ($4,610) missed the mark.
