400 students protest at IIT Bombay after student caught using ChatGPT in exam dies by suicide

Nearly 400 students protested at IIT Bombay after a second-year BTech student who was caught using ChatGPT during an exam allegedly died by suicide on campus. They alleged that the institute had threatened the student with a one-year suspension, which could have forced him to leave the hostel. This was the third suicide case on the campus within seven months.
