40,000 police officers to be deployed in France amid unrest over 17-yr-old's killing
France will deploy 40,000 police officers to curb violence that broke out after a 17-year-old, identified as Nahel, was shot dead in a Paris suburb, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said. He also said 170 police officers have been injured in the violence. Protests first erupted on Tuesday night and on the second night, police arrested nearly 150 people.
