42 wagons carrying 25,900 quintals rice reach Mizoram by rail

Mizoram received its first-ever Food Corporation of India rice cargo train carrying 42 wagons and 25,900 quintals of rice at Sairang station on March 3, 2026. The milestone follows the 51.38-km Bairabi-Sairang railway line inaugurated in September 2025. Since then, the terminal has handled 30+ freight rakes, boosting logistics, infrastructure supply and market connectivity.
