43% new Lok Sabha MPs have criminal record, 26% more than 2014: ADR

Around 233 MPs (43%) elected to 17th Lok Sabha have criminal charges against them, according to Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) which analysed 539 out of 542 winning candidates. The BJP has 116 such MPs, followed by 29 MPs from Congress, 13 from JDU, 10 from DMK and 9 from TMC. In 2014, 185 Lok Sabha MPs had criminal records.
